      Not really, most of the ones I play are multiplayer. The only one I can think of is Arkham Horror, which is great. It's technically even playable with one person!

      Not JT, but somewhat into boardgames. If you want competitive 1v1, Twilight Struggle rips, but it takes some learning (advanced players are constantly counting cards, for instance, which requires you to know what cards there are in what eras). For something more cooperative, Spirit Island is great with 2p and still fine up to 4p, and at lower player count it's quite a bit faster.
