The number one bogeyman people have told me about East Germany my whole life is that everybody was always afraid of being snitched on to the Stasi, but now that we're doing it to the FBI it's actually your civic duty and absolutely necessary.

Why would you consider the Capitol "our shit" though? The ruling class of this country have made it abundantly clear that their interests and yours do not align.
I think everyone is making sense here, I thing Intern's point stands in general, but I agree that I hope he isn't thinking the Capitol "our shit". However, I don't think that necessarily precludes using their dumb choices against them, since these people could actually threaten us and the everyday people we stand with as socialists in the future, so it may be worth invoking "the mob that nobody likes" preemptively.
I wouldn't draw any kind of analysis that starts from Jan 6 though. Remember that the state apparatus that is currently tracking down all of these QAnon people is the same one that killed MLK, decapitated the Black Panthers, funneled cash to anticommunist death squads in Nicaragua and Indonesia, etc etc. BLM leaders keep turning up dead in their own flaming cars, and then there's the mass arrests of activists of all kinds for being in the vicinity of violence that is more often then not provoked by the police themselves.
This moment in time where it seems like the state is targeting chuds is just a fleeting news story, so don't get too comfortable thinking of the FBI as anything but your enemy.
