Hello everyone, does anyone have a recommendation for a book that really dives deep into the mundanity and hollowness of life under capitalism? It doesn't have to be explicitly socialist/communist but definitely something that brings to bear how alienating 20th/21st century life can be. I'm not particular about genre or length. Thanks!

"One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" is a book by Chilean sociologist Augusto Salvador about adverse effects of Pinochet's rule after Allende was killed in a coup, and one of these aspects explored in the book is how something as simple as the fishing industry, an industry once union strong was brutalized under CIA back military intervention to kill union leaders and install puppets who were pro "United States exports" and virtually made this wealthy powerful Chilean industry into a gangster shell company serving oversea interests rather than the economy at home, it really is a mind boggling book showing the great lengths America will go to ruin the lives of individuals most Americans will never meet, even the lives of poor fishermen and women just scraping by; I highly recommend it.
