Most shark attacks happen in shallow water

The fact that any children are ever killed by cars is a travesty and most individual people straight up shouldn’t be allowed to own cars and they shouldn’t be allowed most places. But this stat is just “More kids get hit by cars when kids are walking in the streets”

this is more of a practical cautionary reminder for living in amerikkka than like, new surprising findings. but because it's kids, who are just out doing a valued holiday tradition, it is particularly galling and hopefully serves to break through the "well thats just how it is" mindset we've developed around traffic killings

I used to deliver food for a living and the only day I requested off was Halloween.

I will gladly work Thanksgiving and Christmas to avoid to possibility of killing a child dressed like Batman running across the street after sunset.

they had to toss in the "inspect all the candy, throw away anything homemade or with any tear in the packaging" shit... and then this little gem at the end lol

If handing out treats, throw in some fun Halloween-themed school supplies or toy trinkets such as plastic spider's rings or glow sticks.

America should solve this problem by letting the children drive around instead. They'll be much safer in their cars.
