I thought about waiting a bit before posting this but seeing so much hypocrisy in the news media made me frustrated so
England supported early Wahhabism in the 1700s to destabilize the Ottoman empire. America supported ETIM in Xinjiang. America supported Saudi Arabia against Yemen. America supported the Afghan Mujahideen against the revolutionary government in Kabul. Israel supported Hamas against the PLO. The most reactionary people in any given nation are are beneficiaries of covert and overt support of the reactionaries in the imperial core. Tomorrow's enemies are today's allies. The Imperialists love to create their own enemies because it lets them keep the military budget high, force the troops to "grind for XP" instead of "becoming soft in peacetime" and it lets them consolidate their power by creating constant panics about what yesterday's allies might do to us tomorrow.
