They went about it in a truly horrible way but maybe they have a point. There's some pretty serious stuff that gets posted on here and I think we've had at least a few cases of people being creepy towards users - lord only know what kind of shit site management gets sent. Obviously there's no magic line that you cross at 18 that makes you hugely different from 17, but you have to draw the line somewhere and that seems like a reasonable place to do it. This is y'all's site and you can run it how you want, but if it was just up to me I'd prefer that site management and membership be limited to adults in order to be maximally protective of minors. I really like ChaCha and I'd feel terrible if part of the reason I was able to enjoy it is because some poor kid had to deal with nasty stuff behind the scenes.

Disclaimer: this is a completely biased take because I was an extremely dumb 17-year-old. I think if I'd been sent death threats or given leadership responsibility on a social platform at that age I wouldn't have handled it well. Maybe this generation is made of sterner stuff than I was and I'm being foolish.

Our mod team does a good job and I'm not at all trying to criticize anyone. Just sharing my feelings.
