I would really like for there to be more exchange between our Latin American comrades, especially since all the latin american subs are filled to the brim with reactionaries. any suggestions?
i think maybe stealing some posts from /r/AskLatinAmerica would be a good start.
i find seizing articles from telesur, granma and brasil wire to be a good way to get posts
sure, but if you scroll through the comm by new you'll see there's very little engagement. most posts don't get over 5 comments and some don't even get a single comment.
wtf people saying about my boy Ben. Is it some infighting bullshit? Where's the post?
Him and the Greyzone have been crucial to my understanding of LA politics in particular. I posted the Greyzone pod recently about the Election in Ecuador, it's textbook reporting. So much context included. Also posted his analysis of Iranian history recently. It was an impressive deep dive imo.
Shit, evo was badmouthing the Ecuadorian ecosocialists.
Just trying to catch up on all of it now. He seemed to be getting lots of flack for that twitter thread calling out the DSA woman, who started the sexual assault investigation, for being an employee of the Justice Department. FFS given the history of govt disruption of left movments, it's ridiculous not to suspect any justice dept employee of wrecking, at the very least.
I can't take any crit of the Greyzone in good faith, given what I've seen so far. Been listening and reading them for years. Their record stands for itself imo. What's out there that's comparable?
I can name more mods, maybe having one of each country could be cool.
A big problem with this site is that I can't tell my latam lefty contacts from reddit "yo check this site" unless they are into US-centric politics.
