One of the few things I like about Reddit is that there are many genuinely supportive communities for people with mental health concerns. It would be nice to have something similar in a more comradely space.

I'm quite familiar with psychopharmacology and various therapeutic modalities (not to be construed as medical advice), so I'd be happy to help moderate such a community (I'm not sure how the moderator thing works on Lemmy; is it like reddit with community specific mods?). I can share some example posts if interested.

100% yes plz, even if it doesn't get many upvotes. It's a really obviously important space. The channel on the discord was an incredible space, it was the first place I've ever really spoken openly about my bipolar diagnosis. Turns out shit-tonnes of people have bipolar! Hahaha. Who knew?! :P

Even not a specifically treatment-oriented place, but just a place to come together as people with mental illnesses. The oppressions of capitalism intersects with mental illness is so many ways, support and solidarity and, ya, mutual aid are very important.

I'd be happy to volunteer to mod it, too. :red-fist:
