Can anyone point me to a heart rate monitor that doesn't require bluetooth/wireless connectivity? My phone already has a shit ton of my data; i don't want it to have additional health data. I don't want to use a fucking app. I just want to be able to check a primitive digital watch face (or something similar) and see what my heart rate is. If I want a history of my heart rate, I can take notes, pen to paper, myself.
This shouldn't be hard, and yet when I google search for "heart rate monitor that doesn't require bluetooth", I get a bunch of lists from aggregation sites (a bunch of wackos concerned about bluetooth "radiation", but not concerned about health data privacy I guess), listing a number of items, none of which are a heart rate monitor that doesn't require bluetooth connectivity (I'm either directed to pedometers, or to fancy watches that at somepoint need to connect to a smart phone to sync data or something). Beyond useless.
I'm losing it. They've had heart heart monitoring tech before to bluetooth; I can go use the shitty treadmill or elliptical at the gym, and all it takes is holding the correct electrodes long enough, and my voila, there is my heart rate. Why can't I do this at home? Fuck.
clever, thanks dude.
Welcome, happy to help.
