I uninstalled the driver and changed the group policy to not install drivers for new hardware when detected, that seemed to work a few years ago. Don't have any specifics because I haven't used Windows in a whiiiiile.
Yeah that makes sense. Fucking Windoze. Psst, they give out the ISOs for free on the official site, you can just choose not to activate and it will work just the same, maybe with a mildly irritating watermark in the corner.
Removing a keyboard from a laptop isn't that difficult either. It's usually one of the first things you remove after the back plate when disassembling.
Just FYI if you get the gumption for it. Can probably find a manual online pretty easily.
