Won't lie. We're almost at BBQ season and I'm going to be smoking up all kinds of goodness on the pit that'll make yo mouth water. I'll post pics but if it's too offensive I'll just keep the food pr0n to myself.

You’re welcome to NSFW tag/CW whatever, but so long as it isn’t like an unbutchered animal part, like a suckling pig, whole fish, or a limb with skin on I’m good with it. Chicken wings I’ll take opinions on but I feel that that level of butchered meat is a constant enough occurrence not to feasibly request of folks.

Willing to take opinions on the other stuff too.

Given the shittiness and bad faith of some of the privileged colonizers posting on here lately, am I allowed to post photos of my traditional meal when I eat it?

It may be raw brains, it may be a bloody heart, it may be a roast goose with local herbs(goose season coming up soon! :honk-commie: ) , but ultimately it will be a meal done in defiance of cultures that tried and failed to genocide us and it will have lived and died free, involving no factory farm or shipping/ other environmental issues, so it is actually more subversive, anticapitalist and better for everyone on earth than shipping some quinoa a few thousand miles.

If not, will the mods examine their biases and stop sidelining colonized peoples for arbitrary reasons while allowing others to turn us into punchlines?

You are absolutely allowed to post all of your meals, and I look forward to seeing it!

We just ask, in the case that something might be recognizably part of an animal, that you add a content warning (cw: brain or cw: organ) and tag it nsfw. So, if it’s an intact organ, limb, or the head of an animal, give folks the opportunity to decide to engage with it if it’s something that causes them distress.

But again, yes please do share your meals and tell us about them! Our main priority is making this a welcoming place for everyone :comfy:

Mm.. nah I think that’s ok... it’s more like if you have the eyes looking at you type deal or it’s super apparent that you would recognize that animal if you looked at a picture of it alive. Not to call out but there was a “fish taco” post that kind of settled how we look at it.

Another thing to think about is, based on that post, is the animal being respected as a source of food. If you’re using a whole filleted fish as a taco shell that will go to waste for shock value, then that’s not really food that’s mutilation.
