from everything i've heard—and correct me if i'm wrong—but it seems like china is performing some shady counter-terrorist action in xinjiang, nothing unlike what the west has done for the past few decades. i don't think that it's necessarily a good thing but it doesn't seem out of the norm for any state, socialist or not, to do this. it's hypocritical for the west to critique it when we do the exact same thing, and any accusations of genocide are completely detached from the reality of the situation.
Yeah, I've read the white paper and the party position and its definitly about counter terror surveillance and disciplining the workforce. It doesn't justify intervention (sanction all of Europe!), but if I were an anti capitalist in Xinjiang I'd view it as a site of struggle.
