I need to post my gamedev progress on twitter because it's a major advertising channel and it'd be irresponsible of me not to.
But I really don't enjoy it.
Marketing is by far my least favorite part of being an indie dev. Even sharing things I'm genuinely interested in sharing feels disingenuous and uncomfortable.
I just really hate the feeling of being attention-seeking... which apparently is the incorrect way to be, now.
I like my thing, and I want to show it off to people I like!
I also need to show it off to as many strangers as will sit still long enough to shove it in their faces.
And the second thing makes me feel bad about doing the first thing, which I should actually like.
Hell yeah, the textures are really cool! They're very effective at making the game stand out.
What even is this feature? Only algorithm approved thoughts allowed? Just be careful to never deviate from the norm?
Most Tweeters don't post things like this
...so what? Better follow the herd?
