My thinking was that time travel narratives work well and can be pretty straightforward under the idealism of liberal/capitalist ideology, but plopping a group of people into a very different society would be a much stickier concept under materialism. Not knowing any examples, I wanted to know if anyone could point me to communist cinema, literature, etc. that dealt with time travel, or had an alternative framework for exploring the differences between communities at different points in history. I also would be happy to hear peoples opinions on this topic, or the topic of being a more well rounded stem person in general.

      yeah it's a super interesting take on time travel on its own, but there's also a lot to explore on how liberalism/capitalism shaped the film: plot spoilers:

      The most salient thing I remember through this lens is that the first (caveat: depending on how you look at the loops they make in time, there might not be a first, but it's the "first" shown in the narrative) project the engineers undertake that moves information from the future to the past is to collect stock ticker data and bring it back with them

        Yea without a doubt I think it's a great movie but seems to be a love it or hate it kinda thing.
