Receding hairlines just... Sort of happen. Mine started some time ago when I was getting to 30. I also have the dreaded "widows peak" that you described. Started at the sides and the hair that's left has a "V" shape to it. It sucks but I have just accepted it. Honestly, it IS something you have to learn to live with. I had a friend that was balding in his early 20s. Ended up just shaving and accepting it. You could try minoxidil topical treatments. Twice a day on each side that's receding. I have used it for years. It's slowed the loss significantly. You'll still loose it eventually but might put it at an age you are more comfortable with.
Also your dad's hairline doesn't matter. It's your mother's father that you should look at for how your hair might go.
