Not to pop anyone's bubble but this could also just be Lee fans from around twitter spamming the poll and not necessarily reflect truth on the ground in Virginia. Hope I'm wrong!
If this means that of the 1700 a significant proportion of the 1000+ votes for him were online support that is quite something. That means he got a tool others have to pay for with tens or hundred thousands of $s.
i mean its not really representative of virginia imagine, and all votes were online support its a twitter poll. not be a negative nancy just don’t expect those margins in anything tangible is all
If you frame your argument as the preferential candidate wasn't on the list and likely got more momentum I am with you, but it is absurd to always strife for 50%+ margins. Campaigns take time and little successes.
because its deluding ourselves into something that is absolutely not reality we are stuck on this online bubble enough and definitely need to see things for what they are
And you think that demotivating people by confronting them with reality motivates them to see things the real way? I think it makes more sense to build up people and try to get them to organize. Though online it isn't so much a focus, however framing good news even if it isn't significant yet in a way that makes it comparable and an asset is good imho.
Definitely! That in of itself is something to be excited about too :) it wasn't my goal to naysayer, just to make sure folks weren't counting unhatched chickens and setting themselves up for dissappointment.

sure sure just don’t want people to think it means anything about the actual electorate is all
Why not? What do you fear? That people are motivated?
