I truly don’t understand libs/neolibs who think China becoming a major player on the world stage is a bad thing even if they “overtake the US” which seems to mean a bunch of different things. Aren’t the libs globalists? China and every other country for that matter getting to America’s level of wealth is the goal I thought. Maybe it’s because they worry Chinese people won’t buy as much useless bullshit that comprises such a huge % of the US economy. And obviously racism/Cold War mindset... but I’d imagine the major players in American capital like a Bezos or Charles Koch (or David, whichever one isn’t dead yet 😂) are extremely psyched about China’s economic rise. Agreed but I think the real American ballers will be okay with making $50 billion off the Chinese and only $25 billion off America in the near future. The culture and average Americans will get tired of losing though, whatever that means
