I would be thrilled to drive this, but my partner would get sick of me referring to every trip to the grocery store as an “away mission.”
Actual source is Italdesign, the Italian company that designed this concept car for VW. It was built on the Golf Syncro, which was the first Golf with four wheel drive. Here is a good video explaining Italdesign's automotive history leading up to the Orbit.
Look at all that visibility! Sweet! Based on modern car design, I assume this has a terrible crash test rating and no side airbags.
I miss when car companies made cool-looking concepts like this that would never roll out of a factory for real.
