I'd say Mickey Spillane but every female character has giant bazongas where he writes lines like "and her huge protuberances lit up in the moonlight and she showed me all she could but I wanted more...", even as the rest is excellent.
Maybe Urasaria Academy, but that's less of a page-turner thriller and more like Raimi's Spiderman -- a character's life who also engages in light investigation/being attacked by villains. It is explicitly left-wing, though, and the MC despises cops to where she frequently threatens to use her legal immunity on them.
