I'm amazed at how many people still misunderstand that film. Both Miyazaki and his producer have explicitly stated that the film was anti-war, Jiro the protagonist is not depicted as a good person. If you want to know more about the production of The Wind Rises watch The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness.
The 3rd season is in production and is going to be released as a movie in 2021.
Just re-watched Knights of Sidonia, and I still can't get over how good the sound design is.
I recently just finished Gatchaman Crowds and have mixed feelings. I really like the director, but it feels like they became bogged down in symbolism and lost focus. Anyways it's really unique better than whatever battle harem is currently airing, so I plan to watch the 2nd season.
I have a bunch but off the top of my head RahXephon. People treat it like some kind of masterpiece but it was one of the most pretentious and incomprehensible garbage I've ever seen.
