After everything, I would honestly just expect for reactionaries to claim its fake AI footage/images or whatever. Half this country threw a massive temper tantrum over simply being asked to wear a mask. I truly wish you're right, but I have no hope left for anything even approaching a rational response if this does evolve into another pandemic.

·9 days agoYes! Sorry for the omission. It kills me that their reforms happened after the socialist bloc fell. Cuba's and the GDR's reforms would have likely promulgated throughout the socialist world given enough time and would have been a counterbalance to the false association of queer liberation with liberal "democracy."
Friendly reminder that the only parties friendly to the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft and their proposed policies were the KPD and SPD, and that the Institut occasionally housed members of the Comintern. Socialists have been at the forefront of queer rights since the beginning. And even though the state socialist experiments of the 20th century largely fumbled the ball when it came to queer rights, the GDR got it right in their final years, only to have it all completely undone by the
successor to Nazi GermanyFRG. Queer Germans have still not regained the rights they lost when the FRG annexed the GDR over three decades ago.

Dipping my toes back into Planetside 2 recently. The massive large scale combined arms battles are still incredible, such a shame there's nothing else like it out there. Definitely been a considerable population drop since release, but it seems like a recent server merge is bringing some people back, and the servers seem quite populated during peak times. The only downside is that there's only one continent open at a time because of the population though.
I don't think there's a word for the emotion I felt when I realized that the images I was shown in high school about the book burnings were the pictures of research about a group of people that, at the time, I didn't even knew existed, nor hadn't realized I belonged to.
