Anarchism is cool and good but anarchists themselves are hurting our movement with the incessant purity testing. The constantly disavowal of Tankies does more to divide the left than the establishment could hope for. Refusal to vote for the lesser of two evils or associate with the Democratic Party leaves what little political power we have on the table. The no true Scotsman approach to leftism is crippling progress and with climate change looming, we really don’t have time to split hairs on whether every individual in the entire movement says trans rights or whatever the litmus test of the day is. The right is a diverse bunch that can rally around a single cause because it universally helps all of them to some degree and they can hash out the fine details later. The left doesn’t even run for office because they are too busy explaining why they won’t vote because a Bourgeoisie apologist will win either way.

I think what you are not considering is the legions of chuds who have been wanking to Glenn Beck for a decade and have rifles and go bags all set up. The right has the full backing of the most extensive military on earth and a few hundred thousand “patriots” who will literally fight to the death to protect the status quo. We are outnumbered, outgunned, and cannot participate in asymmetrical warfare, because we are outnumbered there too. It’s not like Vietnam where a formal army is fighting guerillas 1000 miles away. It’s a formal army, guerillas, an elaborate spying network, the CIA, and a police state against 10,000 of us with guns we bought at the local sporting goods place. It is absolutely a pipe dream. Decades of propaganda have convinced generations of Americans that leftists are the second coming of the Nazis and they oppose us as hard as we do fascists.

Thank you for the suicide fuel. Capitalism has been around for less than 1% of human history and it’s already started a mass extinction event. Liberalism is completely unequipped to deal with this and clearly has no plan to fix it or even just slow it down in any meaningful capacity.

That’s what I’m worried about. We’ve seen the lengths the right will go to seize control. We know how perfect their propaganda machine is. Trump emboldens the right. Biden puts liberals back to sleep and puts their guard down. It’s lose-lose but at least one candidate acknowledges climate change is real, I guess.

A year ago we could all laugh at anti-vaxxers for being the most ignorant people in the world. Now 1 in 4 Americans will refuse a COVID vaccine once available. The modern left is terrible at propagandizing. The right can turn half their voters onto anti vaccine nonsense in 6 months. That is insane. A well oiled machine like that is nigh unstoppable. Everyday I get a little closer to black pilling.

Just do the ancap thing and assert that the librarian isn’t using the land productively and then the non-state will enforce the NAP and evict the librarian.

What is the relationship between being at the library and having a home? Do they just mean free internet access to look around? Like people are just handing out housing if you ask politely?

A lot of conspiracy theorists are people who see the deep seated problems in the world and lack the education to explain it. There isn’t a secret cabal of Illuminati pulling the strings in world governments. It’s just capital exerting influence to bolster capital. They one entity that influences all the major players is immaterial. They have been conditioned all their life that capitalism is freedom and anything else is the beginning of the end, so when they start to see the cracks showing they have to conjure up some explanation as to what or who is sabotaging their perfect system.

But the chuds will always insist the people on government assistance are eating steak and lobster everyday. They are so confident in their wrongness.

My dad is the most indoctrinated person I know. He insisted Obama was a secret Communist who will be coming for his guns any day now. He spent the summer of 2008 building a functioning mortar out of parts from Tractor Supply and the local sporting goods shop so he could fight off the government when they come for his trailer in small town New England. Half a century of right wing propaganda has turned his brain to peanut butter.

I was chatting with him one day and he mentioned how messed up it is that we spend our whole lives working to pay off debts. Your home, car, credit, and even a second home if you do well enough. Nothing you earn is ever enough, and you are pushed to always work harder and never stop and enjoy life. It’s all in aid of making payments to people who already have more money than you will ever see in your life. After a brief pause I commented that this idea is surprisingly left wing coming from him and I’d love to talk more about this. As soon as he heard he was acting like a leftist, the conversation ended on the spot and I never heard about that topic again. He was so close to getting it. SO. CLOSE.
