  • This is sorta true for flat screen gaming, but if you want to play vr you need a pretty hefty gpu. You can get by at low resolution with a 2060 but you're much better off with a higher end card. Especially if you want to play wirelessly since you need a little extra overhead for encoding. I'd still argue a 2060 isn't quite enough for flat screen anymore but a 3060 definitely is for 99% of users and will be for the foreseeable future.

  • At some point if you aren't wanting to grow any bigger you're going to have a lot of stuff like that fall through the cracks. I'd rather have a stable working platform than something that's constantly reinventing itself and therefore breaking itself. It's pretty amazing how much stuff valve manages to keep running considering how small they really are. Definitely better than the chasing non stop growth bullshit the rest of the industry is about. Early access is probably my biggest pet peeves with steam at this point. Definitely agree with that.

  • Alyx was genuinely the best game I've ever played. I absolutely adore that game and it was 100% worth the price of a quest 2 to play it . Valves been gone for a while but they seem to have a lot in the pipeline right now and some big plans for VR in particular. The steam deck is basically a stepping stone for a standalone VR headset capable of playing triple a titles. Either way I rather they continue how they are than become another publicly traded shit hole of a studio like so many others have become.

I'm into airsoft enough where I bought night vision pretty much just for it. By far the best way to train force on force stuff under nods and no matter how much you hike around at night with nods it's not the same as sneaking around in an airsoft game with all your equipment on. It's also just a great time and pulled me out of a major depressive slump and gives me a sense of community in an otherwise atomized world. Are a lot of the people there chuds? Sure but there's also a lot of good people involved too and it's important to get out there and actually strike up a conversation with these people. A lot of them are just misguided and can be pushed left at least a little bit.
