They (the people being recommended to) are just coming to linux and don't think about computers being so adaptable. They want a first impression that is already superior to windows or they will dismiss it as just a toy for nerds. Zorin holds your hand a bit with several themes and ready to use layouts it specifically introduces you to.
Personally, I've been burned by corporate fucking around so much that using and getting in any way invested in anything that Isn't foss feels like I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'd rather invest my learning "spoons" in something I can be sure will be there tomorrow.

You know those earplugs with the small hole down the middle and like 4 sections? You can still hear people talk pretty well with them in IME.
The first movie fell flat primarily, as every dune fan will tell you, because it stopped before anything actually happened. Also, as any dune fan will tell you, it's kind of not movie-able in a way, because being stoic and playing your cards close to your chest is the way all the dialogue is. Like 2/3rds of the book is internal monologue though which explains the actual depth of what's being said and done from the perspective of everyone in the scene. Again I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said a million times before.

What's in your chili? A pressure cooker has been a game changer for me. I usually make mine a little on the watery side and then throw in a handful of soy curls or TVP. It's so low effort at this point it feels like cheating.
I'm loving the new dune movies, but you really have to have read the books first because it's basically like a disney world ride through the setting of the books more than a retelling of the story. Taken that way it's excellent. However I don't see how they expect audiences to have a clue what is going on if they're new to dune.
I felt the same way about the live action cowboy bebop on netflix.
