Most people in corporate have no fucking idea what they are doing and a good setup will have these meetings focus everyone on the same thing and making sure they are progressing. This setup may not be useful for coding untestable and undocumented code in your basement, but it's very useful in big companies. Unfortunately there are also many twats that abuse this in order to make themselves look useful so it's very easy to end up in a broken system if no one is keeping an eye out for this.

  • Most airlines do the same shit in Europe, and what makes it worse is that when you buy tickets in groups or with your partner for example, they intentionally place you separate even if there is free space next to one of the seats so that you then have to buy at least one seat to place it next to the other assigned seat. Wizzair actually used to place people together before, but then they intentionally broke it and now charge 40€ for the solution to the problem they created.

I'm happy to hear that regulators are getting involved now.

  • For work I used to have an agenda with notes but over time I realized it's impossible to actually keep organized and have the most important things be the most easy to find. I moved to onenote and never looked back.

For personal notes I use a tablet with pen because it's fun to write by hand without wasting trees and it still being digital it's easier to organize and move information around.

  • It's been better since moving away from lemmy.world, then Sync being available also helped a lot. But unfortunately as many have noted already, this is not as easy to get into for more casual users so it's heavily biased towards tech topics and communities. Smaller communities will probably take a lot longer to take off if at all and I'm sad about that loss so far.
