I worked for a trucking brokerage after college and the exploitation of the drivers is insane. Dudes in the office would high five each other making hundreds of dollars of profit and the driver might be lucky to break even. The market is all about trucking supply & demand ie if a driver has to eat costs leaving the east coast then they try to make their money driving into the east coast but the brokerage makes money both ways.
I have six weeks off at the end of this year (longest time off in like ten years). Thinking about visiting Peru and also try some ayahuasca maybe. Anyone?
I have a friend from Costa Rica who left because they didn’t like it there but they also keeps railing about Cuba and Venezuela and the horrible living conditions people suffer through and that Maduro/Chavez/Fidel are/were corrupt dictators. My friend has friends from those countries that left because how bad it was for them. I try to explain the media propaganda and the trade embargoes, etc and that despite these things, living conditions for the poor improved but I also have never visited or lived in those places and also I try to say that anti Cuba Cubans (all of Miami) are probably the ones that lost their positions or wealth/power after the revolution. I can’t get them to see that being under the US sphere of influence is a worse type of struggle because how you are valued as a person and the debt peonage on a personal and national level and all that…
I'm just getting into this- taking an online course at a local community college in Protools, production, recording, etc. I play guitar and will probably need to pick up some gear soon like mixers and mics.
