Any idea if it'll "catch up" and sync all the messages over the past few days, or just start properly federating new stuff going forward?
Bcachefs, love COW files. I wish all file systems had it even if it naively copied the whole file on first write. Sort of a write safe hard link.

If blue cities are so bad, why are property values there so high?
Regulations stifling the building of new accommodating housing. Large cities in some red states have massive apartment complexes. Up to you to decide if you like that living arrangement but it lowers prices.
huh I would never assume there's free housing. Maybe at least senior housing with discounted rent, and I have seen those available.
Switched to lemmy 100% after 17+ years of reddit, daily user. I think it's ok but increasingly getting annoyed with a couple things. The rampant extreme politics and phrasing as if it's fact, and people complain about cross posts but I literally see the same exact posts (same community) over and over as I scroll through the feed. Other than that it doesn't nearly have much content but that's to be expected.
... and then reddit undeletes it
CentOS. We were stuck on an old version at work. The OS is already designed to use old packages for security/stability, so imagine how outdated they are on an old version. It was a nightmare getting new software running on it. That coupled with the other news surrounding CentOS and RHEL, I'm not touching those anymore w a 10 foot pole. I wish it just crumbles and Debian takes over. I have had amazing success with like 20 years on Debian and it just gets better and better.
I thought they had more programmers, he was just the only one on site.
