Czechia, same here. Same old Russia wants to invade all of Europe so we have to defend ourselves.

I am pretty sure that is a prerequisite to becoming US president.
Not sure if it is illegal in Germany, but laws usually aren't so specific. Where I live we basically made “From river to the sea” illegal, because “it promotes genocide”.
Summons are the way to go. Especially when combined with spells/incantations. You can kill most bosses by just summoning and using Rot Breath and just running away. Some bosses also have weaknesses that you can exploit.
But if all else fails, summoning other players is probably the easiest way.
I've been reading all the replies in this thread and feel like I am missing something. As far as I can tell, the only thing Hakim is saying, is that it is important to consider Islamic influence on current Palestinian struggle. Not that the only reason the people are fighting is because of Islam, or that Islam is any way better for liberation of colonized people.
I wouldn't be even surprised if Islam is actually more prone to anti-colonial struggle than other religions, but I don't know enough about it to make such claims. But more importantly, I don't see anything that says that struggle for Palestinian liberation is something that is possible only thanks to Islam.
Religious text can have huge influence even in completely irreligious populations (in this case, people who identify as atheist). For example, my country is one of the most irreligious in the world. But (in my opinion unfortunately) many of our customs, laws, world view, etc. are in some ways derived from the Bible. So it would be fair to say that to understand my country, it might be a good idea to read the Bible.
Which I would say is basically what Hakim is saying here. If you want to have better understanding of current Palestinian fight for liberation, it is useful to have knowledge of Islam. Which I would say is a completely fair statement. Especially considering how demonized Muslims are in western countries.
I am happy to be corrected, but I just cannot see what people are complaining about in this post.
I have had my first dnd game few days ago. Now I am getting more into 3d printing miniatures, studying how to role-play, and trying to create a good character.
I kinda get it in this instance. It has similar energy to people that are leftists and want to use the US flag. Bald eagle is only used as symbol in US, so I am not a fan either.
I think you missed a few words in the title of the post.
I truly love the idea that the reason Americans hate communism is their rigorous study of USSR and China.
It was just a temporary ban if I remember correctly. For more context, https://lemmygrad.ml/post/656428
Wow, it is a sad state, where every single comment of his has negative score, except the ones where he calls Russians orcs…
Here in the Czech Republic, almost nothing. Only a few stories about overthrowing of “democratically” elected president, and few comments from French. No one seems to care.
As someone mentioned, there is DS9 and even Voyager. For me, I couldn't even finish watching the first episode. It just didn't seem like Star Trek to me. It had more of a Star Trek movies (new ones) vibe, and I just couldn't stand it.
I think that if there is one person here that I understand losing their temperament, it would be you. Reading the endless threads on lemmy I always wonder how you don't lose your mind arguing with some people.
I agree, what I wanted to say with that is that if someone from other lemmy instances come here even with our reputation, there is a good chance that it is someone who is actually interested in what we have to say.
I agree that is not a huge problem and yes it is mostly not so harmful. I was not trying to suggest with this post that we are super terrible etc. Mostly I just wanted to say that I think we could be a bit better. In my opinion, these people are the prime target for educating. Overall, from what I've seen Lemmygrad has a pretty bad reputation on most Lemmy instances so if someone ventures here and is not a troll, I think we should try to be kind to them.
Most of the time yes, but from time to time I see someone post something and the only comments they get are pretty hostile. Even if later it turns out they were just genuinely asking questions and even admitted to doing so. I think this just pushes some people away, that we could educate instead.
Of course then there are troll etc. which are different story.
Interesting, probably a Czech thing then. We like to pretend we are part of the Western Europe, or at least Central Europe (as opposed to the uncivilized east). You often even get maps of Western Europe like this:
I think the most interesting part is Germany and Switzerland not being part of the West Europe. Anytime someone uses the term Central Europe, it seems to me just trying to be not considered Eastern Europe.
For the fun of it, I just checked current incarceration numbers. It is about a 20000/per year. To be fair Czech population was lower back then (although I am not sure if they are not counting Slovakia as well, as they were one country) but still just, 200000 is pretty low for 40 years of “totality”.
