cable management is a curse. i spent hours trying to get my fan cables to fit properly but i just ended up shoving it behind the back cover and hoping they don't break out
well they said "down with the bourgeois" on twitter
i have to agree. as long as one company holds control over a means of communication they have the ultimate power. my problem is when techbros complain censorship when people get banned for hate speech
this is what i've been thinking for a while. capitalists will fight for the freedom to deprive others of freedom. any recommendations for more literature like this?
to me, FOSS is the perfect analogy for cooperation and individualism. you can use and make your software how you like and collaborate and work with other individuals to improve your workflow for everyone, while admitting and appreciating that no two people have the same needs and likes, and we can accomodate for that.
i guess you could use .IPA files but that would be harder
facebook enabled genocide in myanmar, catalysed Trump's rise, and refused to ban hate speech from right wing loonies in India. they don't get off so easy
the thing is, that kind of unity that QAnon has brought (white supremacists, dudebro magats, and anti vaxxers) isn't something new. The seeds for those different movements all come from the same source: that is, anti intellectualism, faux populism, racial victimhood narratives, etc. that kind of irrationality thrives off of human biases, that is, it's essentially like a cult or religious movement. it's pretty hard to defeat that kind of irrationality when the person in question won't even begin to listen to a rational explanation. trust me, i've tried with my own family and people online. it eventually loops into circular arguments, moving the goalposts, etc. the right's entire thing is about oppressing people, or as libertarians would imply, "the right to oppress other people". even if the methods are different (e.g oppression through a totalitarian state, or oppression through capitalism), the end result is more or less the same.
it's not like the left isn't completely fractured, but the differences are definitely tangible. IMO the main thing that unites the left would be to resist capitalism, and to promote progressive values. other than that, i'm not sure.
what's so good about "owning the dalai lama"? isn't it bad that china would try to take control over some religion and their practices?
isn't colonialism literally power politics? and isn't power politics a redundant term?
i think it was intentionally said that way, he makes fun of capitalism in other videos, e.g he puts "you" in the position of the immoral capitalist to demonstrate how bad it is.
