I had never played a MH game and I had a ton of fun playing in a group and solo. I only used the insect glaive, and only vaguely understand how it works, but I got a ton out of getting different elemental gear. And I was flippy-dippy!

  • Reading this and knowing nothing more about the community than what you've posted sparks a pang of recognition for a younger Spro in my heart.

I remember a time, before memes of tanks and bears, when I too felt this way. I was inundated, by my reckoning at least, with what seemed to me as the prevailing social issue at the time ten or so years ago: the internet's fascination with feminism.

I live (and always unfortunately have lived) in rural, midwest communities. To escape, I've always spent most of my time online. For most young men, however, that pretty much puts you on one path. If you're raised well, and have a good head on your shoulders, you're going to encounter this particular contradiction: if social capital is a resource, how can I help someone else get theirs without giving them some of my own? I know other people need it, but I barely have enough to get by.

To stop my rambling, it comes down to this: either from this point these cool 😎 dudes are either going to learn how equality becomes equitable (read theory nerds) or they will suffer from "fahq-gotmineism".

So again, knowing nothing else, I hope these guys can learn the right lessons. This is certainly similar where I started.

Largely. Other than real fire shit like Inebriated Past, TA's ability to hone in on a single topic makes a more appealing product to me. It's at its worst when it tries what Chapo does best, general news of the week stuff, but its quality is more consistent.

I didn't have to wait 8 months after Bernie lost to enjoy Brace and Liz again

  • This is as detailed an explanation you'll ever get.

I've followed Peter since before they had a political channel and I'd be a total hypocrite to not see their progression as a reflection of my own.

I don't agree with Peter on everything, but I can trust that their opinions are as genuine as mine, because we walked similar paths.

Not to mention, they were the first (to my knowledge) in the youtube space to tackle the reactionary nature of overpopulation.

  • I get it. I share your frustration because it's one I feel constantly. I can't help but find myself fascinated by the dedication Robbie has to analysis though. Throw an ushanka on that man and you have a husbando.

I think that trueanon is about as close as one gets to those spicier topics while still having a leftist foundation. It does suffer from being relatively more theatrical than Media Roots in its presentation, however.

I don't share the same suspicion specifically regarding old takes/weird followers. I don't think I would have gotten where I am today without some questionable interests here and there. Whomst among us, you know. RE: alex jones specifically, I remember an early revelation that came with researching the gay frogs thing, as I think many did. Of course the context of what he was saying was wrong, but where else when he was talking about it would you find shit about corporate pollution? Probably somewhere, but I didn't know about it.

  • It's a conscious, careful decision to not associate with labels. It's the same frustration I have with her, the Martins, Peter Joseph, etc.

Put your cards on the fucking table. The imperial core is rotten. We don't have time for higher morals. This ship is going down and only one thing has hope of correcting it. Call yourself a fucking communist so we can create a goddamn movement. Fly a red flag, damn you!
