The chain was going to be in the water regardless, because unless you're really carrying a lot of speed bikes don't float over water. Sure it would have been better environmentally to stay home and not venture out at all, but I actually like to see some of said environment and a dirt bike is a fun way to do so (and it even has less of an environmental impact than a 4wd).
It's where Jerrabattgulla fire trail crosses Jerrabattgulla creek, in Tallaganda state forest. It's a nice little green section around there surrounded by drier more scrubby country on the way in and out.
Only one light rail line at the moment, running from Civic to Gungahlin (northmost town centre) with what appears to be a decent amount of usage. More is planned but I wouldn't expect to see a proper new line in the next decade given how slow progress has been.
Just had a look at a few communities here from kbin.social and recent posts aren't flowing over to kbin either.
You would think so, but I notice this even in areas where you'd think every tower would also have 4G coverage (in the hills near Canberra for example) so I feel like the 3G cells just have a little edge when it comes to coverage.
It'll be interesting to see how this affects reception in the fringes of current service. There's plenty of places once you get a bit away from town where I've noticed the phone drops back to 3g to get any trace of reception, and while it's generally not enough to get you data that might be enough to get an emergency call out if necessary.
What are the replacement materials?
Laminated chipboard/MDF or natural stone mainly, depending on how expensive ones tastes and budget are. Still wouldn't want to be breathing dust from either of those though...
As another comment suggests stainless steel is another option, or perhaps even expoxied timber/bamboo. These do suffer from aesthetic and durability issues respectively though when it comes to trying to convince people to use them.
Well clearly they're all horribly dangerous drivers and we need both to lower the speed limits further and show more advertising telling us how going a k over the limit will kill your family.
Bit of a trap setting the speed limit that low there anyway, looking at the road in question it looks like a section where it would easily be safe to drive at 80 so 60 is going to feel very slow.
They raised the upper bound of the 19% bracket but left the lower bound the same, so the tax free threshold remains the same. The additional low income tax offset in stages one and two was useful to help reduce the effects of bracket creep on the lower end of the scale but unfortunately it was only temporary.
Indeed, the tax brackets need to be shifted every now and then in order to keep track with inflation (due to not being automatically adjusted). Moving the bracket cutoffs upwards is not a bad idea, though I disagree with the implementation - it really should have been done by raising the tax free threshold and working upwards through all the brackets.
Rather concerning really that a potentially hostile actor can jam up 40% of Australia's maritime freight handling like that. Several days of impeded operations in major ports has got to cause some major problems in downstream logistics issues, I would not envy anyone trying to sort that out.
In the conditions in which you're jumping into one of these you don't really want much ventilation - too much heat/smoke, and potentially even the fire burning through some of the oxygen from the contained air. Underground might not be an ideal place to be but IMO it's likely the best of a set of bad choices if you can't get out ahead of time - dirt is a pretty good thermal insulator.
You know 'Sri Lanka's leading news network' is really interested in a story when the article is comprised of four sentences and one of them is incorrect.
Counting has started, ABC has a live results page here. As of the time I'm writing this there is only 0.3% of the total counted but it's rising quickly.
If there's people around then go slightly faster than they're walking and you'll be under 10km/h.
If there aren't people around then IMO it shouldn't matter as much as long as you're not taking the piss, just like it shouldn't matter if you're doing a bit over the limit on an empty highway.
It's a real show of how much road safety discussion is fixated on lowering speed limits when you've just talked about how significant numbers of people are now not wearing seatbelts and the topic you move straight into is decreasing speed limits and driving more slowly instead of how to increase the number of people wearing seatbelts...
Yep, early voting opened yesterday for some areas.
IIRC they got told it could have been misleading and they shouldn't have done it - but only after the election was over. I don't remember anything of substance actually happening after that.
Poor form on their part IMO, just as it was when the Liberals pulled a similar stunt with signage a few years back.
The single access is a real issue with the planning for this suburb, though it shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone buying there because Blind Freddie could have seen this one coming...
