  • Putin the other day also said this:

"For 500 years [Western elites] have been leeching off other nations. They tore apart the people of Africa, exploited Latin America and the countries of Asia. For centuries they have grown accustomed to stuffing their bellies with human flesh and their pockets with money. But they must understand that their vampire feast is coming to an end."

Yet users here really thought he had been "played" by Trump and would agree to an unfavorable deal to Russia, come on. Yet again, westerners make arrogant predictions without listening to what Putin and the Russians are actually saying. Just like the lead up the Ukraine war, where every single western leftist was wrong because they all ignored Putin and the Russians.

  • If it's not economically viable to have a career as an artist then most won't, and art will overwhelmingly be made by the rich trust fund kids who have no need for income. It will be like Ancient Greece, where the slaves toiled so the aristocrats could play philosophy. You don't hear anything about the writings or philosophies of the slaves, because they were illiterate and forced to do manual tedious labor with all their time. This is class war, to destroy the artistic organs of the working class.

Sure you will still have those who have art as a hobby, but if art cannot be a profession for most then it will largely die out. The Beatles and the British Invasion happened because of post-war Britain's generous welfare programs that allowed an entire generation of lads to layabout and do art and music. These types of movements will be impossible if instead John and Paul were working their McDonalds 10 hour shifts.

No most scientists are idealists outside of their specific lines of inquiry. Watch a biologist start going on about supply-and-demand and other economic "laws" when talking out of their ass on the economy. They have a divider and dissonance in their mind between the "natural" world, which follows scientific laws, and the "human" world which does not. Watch the scorn they have for the "soft sciences" of anthropology, sociology, linguistics, etc. which are the attempts at scientifically studying the "human" world. When you step into that area they rebel and revert to their ideological programming instead of retaining their systematic materialist way of thinking.

  • The Palestinian Resistance’s stance on Syria being contradictory to their own interests was a major and glaring flaw, and it helped lead to a major kneecapping of the resistance eventually. It was a weakness in the armor that Israelis and Americans used as a wedge to split the resistance apart.

This is why “ideological purity” and “being correct” is actually important to active movements. The rest of the axis of resistance decided to try to sublimate that contradiction instead of confronting it, and it lead to greater problems down the line. Mao is correct when he writes in Combat Liberalism about the fraught perils of allowing your friends and associates to hold incorrect and reactionary views.

Imperialism is the primary contradiction. Compromises along this axis are not tolerable. It’s not a subject we can “agree to disagree” on with our comrades. They must be brought around to the correct anti-imperialist position

Iran and Hezbollah should have required support for the entire axis as condition of being part of it. The political elements of Hamas that allied themselves with HTS and TFSA and FSA should have been purged as a condition of aid.
