Hey there! I'm the author of the article you're discussing, and (obviously) I think the trade-off is worth it. I actually address this concern specifically in an article I'm working on currently (which will be published within the next week), but to summarize here: I'm not contributing to anything other than their pre-existing echo chamber. I repost content within the echo chamber (ie not to a new audience), and this content already existed in that space, so I am literally adding nothing new to the conversation.

If you're interested, I'm writing a whole series of articles on doing this kind of work which, hopefully, I will be able to post about here soon once I comment enough to get my score up.
