It is. This is where we need to use tactics similar to undercover police and government plants. People see through bullshit too easily, and you have to make a tradeoff where ends justify the means.
In this case "spreading some memes" is way less damage than the checkpoint would have caused.
It's up to each individual to find this moral line, but it is much more effective than coming in as an egg account or an obviously leftist account.
In order to inject chaos into this community, as a wrecker, the guy had to first spread terrible ideas, perhaps dozens of times, before building up enough trust. Is the trade off worth it?
Yeah it's pissing in the ocean, and you can even sparsely post to nobody, or a couple sock puppets, and that will be enough for most chuds to believe you when they check your profile. So nobody but them really has to see the CHUD memes you post.
Hey there! I'm the author of the article you're discussing, and (obviously) I think the trade-off is worth it. I actually address this concern specifically in an article I'm working on currently (which will be published within the next week), but to summarize here: I'm not contributing to anything other than their pre-existing echo chamber. I repost content within the echo chamber (ie not to a new audience), and this content already existed in that space, so I am literally adding nothing new to the conversation.
If you're interested, I'm writing a whole series of articles on doing this kind of work which, hopefully, I will be able to post about here soon once I comment enough to get my score up.
yeah the link really does a great job of delivering me to the story i wanted to read. shout out to the link and big ups to hexabearagon for finding it
Hey, thank you for posting this! That is my article. I just showed up to share more, but I think I need to comment some before posting so here I am commenting. Hopefully I'll be able to successfully post soon and y'all can follow my work if you're interested.
