As someone that has watched like three games of american football, i feel like the sport would be way more enjoyable to me if it weren't so fucking tediously drawn out. Say what you want about rugby, or hell, even soccer, but at least there's something going on at all times.

I don't think it was ever that funny. But it was better than almost all of the other newspaper comics, and that was enough for most people.
