  • Pleasantly surprised by this video. Was expecting your typical "capitalist are EVIL EVIL and we need a welfare state now!" Instead was met with an actual structural critique of capitalism and explanation that everyone is bound to and blinded by the same fetishism. It did get a little utopian near the end where socialism supposedly fixes everything, but hey, what can you do. Cant do a value-form deep dive in every video i suppose.

"Sâr found many of Karl Marx's denser texts difficult, later saying he "didn't really understand" them.[55] But he became familiar with the writings of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin,[58] including The History of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks).[55] Stalin's approach to Marxism—known as Stalinism—gave Sâr a sense of purpose in life.[59] Sâr also read Mao's work, especially On New Democracy, a text outlining a Marxist–Leninist framework for carrying out a revolution in colonial and semi-colonial, semi-feudal societies.[60] Alongside these texts, Sâr read the anarchist Peter Kropotkin's book on the French Revolution, The Great Revolution.[61] From Kropotkin he took the idea that an alliance between intellectuals and the peasantry was necessary for revolution; that a revolution had to be carried out without compromise to its conclusion to succeed; and that egalitarianism was the basis of a communist society." Huge own to Stalin and Mao. What no Marx does to a motherfucker.

oh no poor Stalin! Communism is DEAD now because people were mean to Stalin! If only Stalin executed more Marxists, maybe then we'd have world wide communism. Pull your head out of your ass idiot.

except not reading or understanding theory leads you to putting bad things into practice. What do you think happens when a bunch of "revolutionaries" who dont know what the value form is or anything relating to the content in all three volumes of Capital want to abolish capitalism? Do you think they understand the importance of abolishing commodity production? The proletarians understand their immediate condition without having to be told by a bunch of petit-bourgeois students who skimmed the pamphlet what its like to be a prole. So yes, people need to read theory and they need to understand it as well.

  • "bridge the gap between the (presumably) uneducated or ignorant working masses" lmao get a hold of yourself. "How do i teach these dumb workers that i know whats best for them?" You dont impose your understanding of being a worker onto other workers. Thats not what this is or what its ever been.
