the first series of switches had a bug in the chip that lets you load custom firmware. to use it you have to get into recovery mode by pressing power, volume up, and "home." the home button is different from the ones on the joycons, but can still be "pressed" by shorting 2 specific pins on the right side joycon rail

for whatever reason openshot barely works for me (no hardware accel and sound doesn't export with video) so i use shotcut. it's a more complicated workflow tho
