dr strangelove is amazing especially for an american cold war movie. i haven’t seen children of men but i’ve seen cuarons film y tu mama tambien and it fucking destroyed me. highly recommend
can’t believe i’m using this on mobile just to be with you guys again. it’s not that bad actually, way better than reddit’s shitty mobile version. i hope they make an app one day tho
haven’t really been reading theory lately. right now i’m on room to dream which is a david lynch biography/memoir. it’s really good so far with a lot of pictures which are nice. such an interesting dude to read about
i’m also reading satantango by László Krasznahorkai. it’s a postmodernist novel set in late communist hungary and it was turned into a 7 hour and 20 minute film by bela tarr. i hope to watch that someday. anyways, the book is great but super challenging. the plot is confusing and very dark, but also quite funny with some incredible winding prose.
if you’re interested in camus, check out the rev left radio episode on him and sartres ideological falling out. it’s a very interesting story. i loved the stranger. i tried to read sartres book nausea but could not get into it at all. but sartre was far more based.
