You have a point but I think the funniest example of Araki's design philosophy is when he has a character in Vento Aureo say that mafia members dress discreetly and don't stand out in a crowd and then proceeds to design the entire rest of the cast Like That
Yeah but that was only after Joseph killed his entire family. Maybe if they had lived he would have been more mellowed out and inventing weird sex that would make the arthropods and mollusks blush 🥺
hey c'mon now
Hey, Jotaro's uniform is personally modified as part of his delinquent persona (many of the cast of Diamond is Unbreakable similarly have customized uniforms). And it's very possible Kakyoin doesn't go to Jotaro's school, he claimed to be a transfer student but it may have just been part of the literal brainwormed ploy to try and kill him.
Not that you need any more persuading, but parts of the first half and the entire second half have some really gorgeous animation. Episode 12 was storyboarded by Satoshi Kon and in fact was his big break in the animation industry at the time.
It also tries to address some of the issues with Araki's writing in part 3, such as his treatment of women and the bystanders in the various countries the protagonists visit. It also has some surprising rewrites to include the character Avdol in more of the story overall. It's not perfect (away from the comparison with the source material, the treatment of women is not great, and episodes 4 and 5 are still really bad about the Indian background characters) but I like almost all of the story changes over the original manga tbh
Yeah I'm biased but still
If you don't like the part 3 anime, try watching the part 3 OVA instead! It's shorter and takes place in an alternate universe where Jotaro is an awkward but good natured guy who loves his friends 😌
If Esidisi had survived, he and Kars probably would have just spent their time inventing the most fucked up super sex ever to occur on planet earth
Actually the true protagonist of Battle Tendency was, true to life, the Red Army (killed the worst JJBA character ever aka Stroheim)
I'm not going to say Trish doesn't have some good character moments but I could have gone without seeing the instances of her (cw sexual assault content)
getting groped, almost having her top ripped off by a stand, getting ogled at and characters falling face first into her tits.
You're forgetting the Set/Sethan arc and literally everything about how Araki wrote Trish Una.
(Especially the 1993 and 2001 OVAs)
idk I think Risotto Nero on the back row is looking pretty good
average stand user friend group
Watch the OVA it's good 👍
I still find it amazing that the David Pro anime stretched this out into two episodes without adding any additional information. Just dragged the whole thing out to double the length of the OVA's. Editing and pacing are an underappreciated art form sometimes
