  • Hmm, we’ll have to agree to disagree there. They can 100% decrease the size of the processing bits and reduce weight.

I just think it’s very shortsighted to look at such an early version of the product and say “it won’t change much”. Especially when however many years ago you could have said that what we’ve got right now isn’t possible.

  • I mean, you can just take it off?

Also, regarding the adoption of the headset, I think it’s absolutely crazy to say that it probably won’t get less bulky. Tech is constantly getting smaller and that will be the number one priority with the headset.

If they can make the price and comfort level right, then I do think it becomes a mainstream product. Not saying people wear it 24/7, but that most households would have one, and it would become somewhat important for WFH and remote meetings.

I’m not a fanboy for Apple, but personally I just think it is the tech of the (relatively) near future.

  • "Tradition is never an excuse for cruelty," says Mr Fry, who is narrating a video which shows undercover film of how black bears are killed.

A supporter of the animal welfare group made an undercover video which claims to show hunters putting down buckets of strongly-scented food as bait, and then shooting black bears with crossbow bolts when they approach.

This doesn’t exactly seem like a revelation to me, and I don’t know why you’d need undercover footage… how do you think they hunted bears?

Living their life in nature before being killed is about as good as it gets for animals. I thought they were gonna say they’re caged from birth or something.

Besides a POV of “killing any animal is wrong”, I don’t really see an issue. It appears to be regulated and as long as they’re maintaining the bear population appropriately why is it any different than hunting deer or killing a cow for leather?

I think it would be a good thing if they moved away from real bear fur for an alternative, but don’t see it as a real issue either way tbh.

  • It’s become undeniable.

My mother was all in on Brexit, she started out fiercely declaring it’s what the country needed.

Then she said it’s going to benefit the country soon, then said it needs some time.

Then she said that everything going wrong was unrelated to Brexit. Then said its not that bad, and the eventual positives will balance out.

That’s the opinion shifting over the years. She now admits it was a mistake, “but how could we have known?!?”…
