Raman spectrometer analysis of muscles revealed that the abundance of MPs was 56.82 and 18.95 particles/g in the two left biceps and 29.21, 15.22, and 23.26 particles/g in the right biceps, brachialis, and brachioradialis, respectively. Three polymer types were identified, namely, PPO, PE, and polyurethane (PU), accounting for 71.1%, 22.3%, and 6.6% of the total mass, respectively. PPO was the primary type of MP detected I the muscle samples. Meanwhile, 66.67% of the MPs were larger than 500 μm (Figure 1). PPO and PE were detected in both bone and muscle samples. PP fibers, PET, PBAT, and PC were only found in bones, whereas PU was only found in muscles (Figure 1).
