    At the final paragraph:

Linus Media Group CEO Terren Tong also responded via email, saying he was “shocked at the allegations and the company described” in Reeve’s posts. He went on to note that “as part of this process, beyond an internal review we will also be hiring an outside investigator to look into the allegations and will commit to publish the findings and implementing any corrective actions that may arise because of this.”

    Clearly say commitment to publish.

  • I'm all for this community to shitpost LMG, after all what's the point of it given their recent fuck up? LMG themselves destroyed their community if anything. Also fuck their screwdriver, it's $60 and you're not even ensuring that it's ethically made by paying such a premium. Employees self-harming to get a day off sounds like something happening at a Chinese factory making $10 screwdrivers, not $60. So fuck them twice.

Unfortunately I don't have time to shitpost myself, would gladly do it otherwise.

  • I agree with you. Also I want to say that it's not just hexbear, I have seen groups of users demand defederation from other instances (not just on lemm.ee) because they don't like seeing NSFW and politics (and other topics I'm sure). If we resort to defederation for any conflict then why are we even here trying to grow Lemmy, it's clear that it wouldn't go anywhere and we should just pack up and go back to Reddit and beg u/spez for forgiveness.

Federation is the main point of these platforms, otherwise they are just a bunch of obscure forums walled out from each other, none having enough resources nor userbase to grow into anything meaningful, and quickly being abandoned.

Can't wait until users are able to block instances so this becomes a non-issue. Probably a compromise could be defederating until the feature is ready, not sure if that's possible, and on the event Hexbear admins/mods not do enough to moderate.

  • Good, hopefully more follow. Floatplane subs have to be LMG's most loyal audience. This is kinda surprising considering the amount of LMG apologists in reddit & LTT forums. Their level of shilling for a company is kinda unreal.

Also fuck LMG's "investigation." Seems like just some diversion that will result in "we found no evidence of anything" and to say they did something. Typical corporate BS.

Everything Madison said has been corroborated by another ex-employee, it aligns with her glassdoor review of last year, aligns with other anonymous employee coming forward exposing LMG's toxic culture, and it's supported by other bits and pieces of recordings. None of these parties are profiting by coming forward, on the contrary they are exposing themselves to the cult that is LMG's fanbase (which drove a kid and his mom to suicide before).

Unless LMG comes up with damning evidence proving everything wrong then anyone with half a brain will see through their bullshit.

This is fucking awful, I'm actually shocked, and with other leaked testimonies from other former employees I don't think any of this is false. She doesn't have anything to profit from this. I'm glad my adblock has always been on and I use invidious because I would have felt sick knowing I supported these assholes at LTT. Anyways I unsubbed from anything LTT and won't watch any more of their garbage.

  • Many people are very triggered in that post and I don't get it.

No platform is gonna have only decent users and only content you agree with. Resorting to defederation from any instance that is offensive to some people just damages what lemmy is trying to be tbh.

Eventually instances following that mindset will be isolated because there's always someone out there who wants to impose their own content curation (like no NSFW, no politics, no trolling, no memes, etc...)

Users should make the calls for what they want to see on an individual level. Thanks to the admin for sticking to fair policies.
