One of myncoworkers died a bit ago. He was waiting for hs insurance to appove an operation that woudl likely have given him a decade more of quality life. We work in a hospital and he doed for want of cheap and easy healthcare. I have been trying not to think about it.

It looks like it would be a shogoth, but from that scene it would be an elder thing. Hard to say. The elder things are written to be sympathetic bur completely alien. Which fits in with Del Toro's style. So I am not sure what departures he is making from the source material

This doesn't strike you as weird? The courts useually fall over themselves to let a guy like him off the hook. If he got some normal penalties or jailtime it'd made sense. This makes it weirder than it was before
