Yeah, I'm used to the narrower meaning of "history", meaning recorded. I like that definition as it lets you differentiate between it and prehistory.
I'm definitely fake
Most security cameras record mpegs to hard drives
History is about 10k years, the 200k years is mostly pre-history. People didn't write stuff down until they invented agriculture and needed to track trade between owners, workers, etc
Everyone forgets druids :(
It's a double edged sword. I was very efficient, and did get more work, which got me noticed and eventually promoted out of a doing position into a leading position
It's a nice change, the work is light, the people side of the work is easy. I have higher pay and much more free time
I'm now a scrum master in a government IT team. I asked my team - all new to the work - to do hands on practice of the new systems, try a first stab at building our changes. Our changes were done in the second sprint (a sprint is two weeks of work)
Another team with probably weaker leadership, and maybe fewer competent workers spent six sprints (12 weeks!) "learning" and is unlikely to finish their work before Christmas
Management think my team's great, but I think we're mediocre, just tall among dwarfs
A monopoly is thought to inspire creation, if that's so IP is good, but should be on human timescales.
100 years of monopoly won't inspire me any better than 20 years, and even most cooperate products have less time in production than that
Publishers and film makers too. Keep it in print or lose rights (though I'd rather have much shorter copyright periods). Changed products get their own copyright, but the old version falls out if you stop selling it.
Funny. I learnt perl to make an IRC bot. I didn't even get a tee shirt, let alone a wife and son
If anyone needs the command: :q!
If you want the computer to ask if you're sure: :q
If you want to save: :wq
I see it fixed now from Aussie.zone
The user name in the transcript misses a word. The profile is @womenarentpeople88
Death penalty for being poor? Psychopath.
It's not murder, it's legal punishment. The poachers use gun violence against rangers, so it's a reasonable escalation.
greentext is just 4chan's way of showing a quote. Lemmy shows it like this
At it's basic level it will capture your IP address, but it won't really tie the IP to a user name, and there's not a role lot you can do with it
Attacks I can think of:
A VPN would protect you in this case, but you need to be a bit of a privacy nut to also protect yourself from things that identify for advertising right now
I have several shops designed and NPC staffed in the characters home town. They seem allergic to selling or buying though
