Stop 👏 paying 👏 for 👏 killing 👏 animals
Again, your feelings (or anyone’s) are not the point. The point is to stop killing animals.
I just don’t give a fuck how a person feels about me or vegans in general. Animals are being caged and/or tortured, then killed while we sit here pretending raising the issue is offensive.
People just can’t put down the burgers and hot dogs and think about anyone other than themselves. Then they act like vegans are crazy. Yeah, okay
My take is simply: why eat animals if I don’t have to? I honestly just think about animals being caged their entire lives for the sole purpose of “bacon tho.”
All the noise about “insufferable vegans,” “I’m offended because a vegan told me to not eat a hamburger,” is just that—noise. I can’t speak for the animals but if it were my livelihood on the line, I wouldn’t give a fuck about the preadator species’ infighting.
By “unnecessary” I mean unless you’re going to die without killing an animal, then you don’t need to kill animals (including supporting it by eating animal products). It’s really that simple.
It’s tiring hearing constant excuses from non-vegans. It’s always semantics and what-ifs, you never get anywhere with them. I just want to scream “put down the fucking hamburger and eat a vegetable ffs!” People really turn this into some nitpicking rocket science. For me? I just decided “fuck this” one day and guess what? I’m still alive.
Same, but that means not eating animals unnecessarily too.
Just block and move on. Who has time for this brain dead shit?
This happened some time ago on Mlem for iOS but it was a bug that’s since been fixed.
I wonder if your issue is dependent on a specific app/client.
Upvoted for IVPN. I use them and I have no complaints so far, though I route traffic to my VPS then to IVPN so I can do some DNS caching among other things (mainly routing between private subnets).
I can’t speak to whether it’s grammatically correct or not but I noticed people speak like this in Los Angeles. I moved here from the Midwest 10 years ago and this is one of the first things I noticed.
I also know/hear/speak Spanish and I really think this is where it comes from.
I wish I could remember what I read up on them. I have a habit of learning tons of information about a company, labeling it “bad/good” then forgetting why.
Generally speaking I ditch companies as soon as they’re bought out because the quality goes downhill shortly after. It’s always the same thing: Simple sold out to BBVA and was discontinued, ONE Finance sold out to Walmart and now it’s clunky/gimmicky as ever, TrueBill sold out to Rocket and it went downhill.
Honestly there is so much with banking I want to automate and I’m dying to develop a fintech app simply to act as a money manager but I’m just some guy without banking certifications or millions to throw at life’s problems.
I was a TrueBill user before it was bought out and rebranded Rocket Money; that’s exactly why I stopped using it.
Yeah that’s why I was saying I don’t necessarily disagree, I just don’t think an AirTag’s tracking (in)ability is fair to compare with that of a full-fledged cellular device.
Exactly. But an Apple Watch can have a cellular/WiFi connection so it’s not dependent on having other Apple devices around to update its coordinates on iCloud.
You’re not wrong and I’m not disagreeing, but AirTags are basically just Bluetooth trackers that emit a signal picked up by Apple devices. They don’t contain cellular or GPS so I don’t think this is a fair comparison.
Where’s that Piped bot at? These links to Google services are killing me (completely blocked on my network).
Looks like we’re all talking frontend frameworks so my vote is the Hotwire family: Turbo, Stimulus
Honestly I’d love to learn COBOL just for fun but I have to work for a living 🥱
Hanami, Ruby on Rails, Lucky
The database has to be Postgres. I’ve seen too much bizarre 🤬 coming from MySQL and Micro$oft SQL Server.
Generally speaking I prefer OS native apps to cross-platform. Being a macOS user cross-platforms apps tend not to respect OS conventions like Command + Click on document title to show the directory it’s in, being able to move files that are open, etc.
Not to say that this app would need any of that. I guess my point is that oftentimes cross-platform stuff looks janky (no matter the host OS).
Honestly I didn’t know if this was AI at first because this was a theme before AI came into the spotlight. I always wonder why this is a thing.
