Scavenger's Reign wasn't advertised in the slightest. I watch a lot of animation. I browse Netflix occasionally. The only time I heard of this show was from word of mouth.
The Llama 3.1 models are probably the best all-rounders, with the Llama 3.1 8B version being the most popular.
Thanks for your hard work as always.
I'm in favor of moving away from proxying. Too many images break and proxying in general is very wasteful, having to download images from potentially small servers constantly would definitely get you ratelimited.
Passing through external images is OK. Many people often post external links anyways to sites like imgur and catbox because of the file size limits anyways.
I think the end goal would always to store images locally though - or at least caching them for extended periods of time. Don't large instances like Lemmy World and huge Mastodon instances work this way? How do they manage the risk?
Cancelled? They wanted to make more?
The discourse around Joker 2 is hilarious. Apparently the plot is so abysmal to the point where (spoilers)
Apparently there's a scene where Joker getsremovedd and turns back into regular Arthur. Part of the plot is that theyremovedd the Joker out of him.
Not every movie has to be a blockbuster, but it is very apparent that mid-scale movies have disappeared from the market. Usually now a movie is a 100+ million dollar behemoth that wants to take the entire box office, or a movie is a low budget straight to Netflix special that has a 5/10 average rating and nobody wants to talk about it.
All things considered, $20m isn't bad considering the series is at an all time low. The 2019 bombed hard and I can see why people are hesitant to invest in Hellboy after that. Godzilla Minus One had a ~$15M budget and that movie was very ambitious and well-done I think.
I don't know if there's a source specifically for this but when I often get stuck and start repeating myself I look up Merriam Webster's thesaurus and start replacing boring words with better ones.
So rather than say something like awesome I'd say a word like marvelous, lovely, etc.
I'm sure it could be a great movie but it just doesn't seem that appealing. I feel like there have been a lot of robot becomes friendly with wildlife stories and every time I see a poster for this it reminds me of Bastion's short from Overwatch
The entire point of fanservice was to give small nods to people who are really familiar with a franchise, but we've reached a point where studios are so creatively bankrupt that the entire move is just fanservice because they literally don't want to bother making anything original.
Matrix 4 is a prime example. A total wankfest of "Remember this? Remember this? Remember this?". What were they thinking?
Another non-superhero example was Kingsman 2, when they brought a popular character back to life just to exist in the movie again. A lot of recent sequels feel like they're just digging out parts of the previous movies and just doing them again. I'll see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice when it hits digital but I also am extremely suspicious it's going to just be "Beetlejuice 1 again".
I know it's been said often but if you remove "lord of the rings" from the title I would have never guessed. It looks very generic.
Pretty cool stuff. I know AI BAD and everything but I expect to see coloring and in-betweening being done by AI in the anime industry within the next year or two. This stuff has always been rushed anyways, so it can help animators focus on the important stuff.
It's using... Live action actors? I thought this was going to be a full on animated movie.
Looks about as lazy as I expected when I first heard it. I can't get over how bad the world looks though, it's like someone downloaded a 4K hyper realistic texture pack that doesn't look anything like the game itself.
Oh god I just noticed the bath on the right too
I had zero expectations especially since Pixar has been in a bit of a slump lately, but I ended up seeing it and thought it was great. It complements the first movie really well, unlike some sequels looks at incredibles 2
Meh. Audience scores feel like a random number generator that's insanely skewed depending on how crazy the fanbase is. Reminder that Venom 2 has an 84% audience score. That movie was total garbage.
Yes PLEASE. Laika has been really hit or miss but I have a good feeling about this one.
So that pretty much confirms what some people were speculating. Reviews mentioned there were a lot of jarring cuts mid-fight that they probably had to cut scenes that were too violent.
