I understand the suspicions ppl might have about this (usually im just as skeptical) but 8 socialists at once? 3 senators??? Holy fuckin shit keep going whatever this is
lol i posted this on reddit too and got banned from r/socialism after it got to the front page for "defending capitalist politicians" while posting the DSA political platform and links to what these electeds have done to ppl complaining. Being rightfully pessimistic about electeds is one thing but holy shit the amount of deranged nihilism and incoherent politics calling them neoliberals and banning anyone that doesnt agree is wild and way more demobilizing and bad than anything DSA could do.
They'll happily allow Socialist Alternative articles on their sub though lmao
Edit: this isn't a dig at SA, it's a dig at the r/socialism mods who are so disconnected from the real world socialist movement that they don't realize SA has been doing entryism into the DSA for the past couple of years. I think I've also seen Cosmonaut stuff posted on there too which is affiliated with a caucus in the DSA.
yeah idk wtf is wrong with the mods there, I was banned once too for posting something about China lifting people out of poverty that they said was "neoliberal propaganda"... fucking great that a socialist sub with 427k users gets to be the personal fiefdom of some dumbass egotistical sectarian mod, it would be a shame if socialist could actually have access to any mass media platform
DSA is just leftist big tent, if the electeds actually listen to the party who cares, they're doing something good. It's only bad when they immediately turncoat and sell out to the DNC.
When you're enemy is the DNC, even the most liberal DSA member is still a friend.
I modded r/socialism for a time and there are a couple of team members there that are pure garbage while others are good. I suspect this is either over-egregious moderation failing to see that parts of DSA are good while national is bad, or it's the problem mods.
If you want to reach out to one of them privately but don't know who to trust I suggest u/raicopk and speaking politely and assuming good faith (because they'll be guarded and assuming the worst as most reddit mods are)
Ill try reaching out and seeing if theres any chance of things changing but this sub has been very sectarian for so long that i doubt theres much interest for reducing the burdensome levels of moderation. idk how to explain to mods that this sort of thing is ultimately damaging to the socialist movement and just impends political organization by censoring communication on the left.
