      "ti" in Japanese is always pronounced "Tee", if they intended it to be pronounced like the word "tide" it would have been spelled "Taidus".

      What's really gonna blow your brain is realizing that nobody in either game ever says his name, which implies that Yuna fell in love with a man whose name she didn't know :thinking-about-it:

        Yeah I think he's Teedus in Kingdom Hearts too and I believe the game director has said thats how its supposed to be pronounced but I dont care. I refuse.

      I happened upon some Japanese meme video of Wakka singing about Tidus fucking him in the ass and in it he called him Teeda.

      Not sure if that was part of the meme, but the original Japanese names for FF characters can be weird sometimes. (Tina -> Terra or Eclair -> Claire)
