i feel bad for people adopted from other countries to a mayo family. like even though im a communist i feel like adopting a black kid is just a bad idea for me for example, there is absolutely no way i can give them proper survival experience for a black person in a white supremacist country. at the very least it just sucks that so many of these kids arent usually given many ties to other asian people that can give advice and advocate for each other in these terrible situations, makes the kid lose out on so much

Maybe it's not culturally ideal, but I have to imagine being adopted by a family that presumably loves them is better than being an orphan.

Undeniably it is, but there have been examples of schemes to steal nonwhite babies and sell them to white parents, so context is everything.

I know, like with Native Americans in the past for example, but being that this guy's Chinese specifically I don't believe something like that is the case here at least.

afaik most chinese orphans are adopted from taiwan so

but i really dont know if the QOL of life would be better here or there. at least they wouldnt have to deal with racism
