  • You either gotta learn it young when your neurons are still nice and plastic or put in lots and lots of work and maintain it

No offense, but I despise this kind of essentialist thinking, that once you're past a certain age it's all over. It's the way languages are taught. Comprehensible Input is where it's at. Take a look at the first five min of video link nested below (the bot removed the comment b/c it had a youtube link). You can watch the rest of the vid but the main part is from the first five min.

  • It's sad that so many "leftists" here are super knowledgeable about politics/history yet when it comes to languages turn into complete dumb-dumbs and say stupid shit like "oH WeLl uNlEsS YoU LeArN It aS A KiD MiGhT As wElL GiVe uP hurrrrr durrrrrr!!!" It's not like CI has been some sort of hidden gem, people have used it to learn languages like Japanese for the last decade on youtube and have produced great results. Another reason why I have absolutely zero hope in the west and have resigned myself that it will become ultra fascist.

  • Oh I've seen this vid, it's actually really good. What really hit home for me was the little skit he does at 16:25 (until 17:45, so about a minute long). If the vid is too long for you I'd suggest you at least check out that part. It really hits the nail on the head of the issue for me, i.e. we really need to give some good dating advice to lonely young guys who are at risk of falling into right-wing pipelines.

  • If you live long enough, you either die from old age or from cancer. Choose.

That's assuming normal aging. If you "aged" by making your body think you're always 21 (or whatever arbitrary "young" age) years old then you would have strong enough immune cells to pretty much nip cancer in the bud. And hopefully the technology would also be able to "cure" any other cancers that slip your immune system. And it would have other knock-on effects like faster recovery time and faster healing time from injuries, not to mention other effects such as being able to get up the next day after a hangover or having better skin and hair and not being tired all the time. Basically anything you could do in your teenage and early 20s you could keep doing.

  • A 24 year old dating a 19 year old is weird because of the amount of growing up you do in that time period

I mean that depends on other factors as well. The 24 year old may have never matured and just lived off a trust fund and was a frat bro whereas the 19 year old may have been working a part time job while attending community college.

  • Also, I have never met a single living being who doesn’t want their aches and pain to be cured just because it’s “more natural.” Maybe in anime or capeshit movie.

michael-laugh And even then, in anime that suffering is usually only temporary and the protagonist goes back to being 100% healed.
